The balls will be collected after each batter’s at bat and returned to the coach pitching.

Base Running

1)     Slide rule; ASA Rule 8 Section 7Q states "When a defensive player has the ball and the runner remains upright and crashes into the defensive player, she shall be called out." Note: if the act is determined to be flagrant, the offender shall be ejected. This is the umpires’ judgment.

2)    When the ball is thrown out of play, 1 base is automatically awarded to the batter and base runners, with no liability of being put out. The award will be from the batter and runners position prior to the time of the pitch.

3)    Base runners may advance only after the ball is hit by the batter, and the continuing play on the ball. No stealing, no leadoffs, no running on the pitch. If the umpire determines that a runner(s) are leaving early, the manager of that team will be given 1 warning per game. The 2nd offense will result in the runner(s) being called out. (Umpires discretion)

4)     When the ball is hit to the outfield, base runners can only advance to the base that they are going to once the ball has entered the infield and any player has control of the ball.  The ball may be in possession of an outfielder or infielder.
