Marengo Travel Softball
What:
Travel Softball is for anyone interested in the opportunity to improve their softball skills in a
competitive environment. Teams will be developed based upon the number of participants.
Each team will participate in weeknight games, tournaments and practices.
When & Where:
Teams will compete in 2 to 4 fall tournaments.
The 12U & 14U teams will begin practicing indoors around November or December with participation in games to begin in April for the 12U and 14U.
The 16U and/or 18U teams will start participating in practices and games in June after
the high school season is finished.
This is approximately a 4 – 6 days a week commitment in months of June and July.
Tournament schedules will be released around January or February.
Most if not all tournaments will be within 1.5 hours of driving time.
Coaches may schedule weeknight games and we will have opportunities to host games.
There may also be an opportunity for an overnight tournament.
Commitment:
Summer is a busy time for all athletes as they are playing other sports, going on vacations,
attending camps, and have other hobbies. We understand it may be difficult to make all
practices, games and tournaments and we will do our best to work around these conflicts.
12U & 14U will participate in approximately 1 tournament in April, 2 in May, 3 in June, and 3 in July.
16U & 18U will participate in approximately 2 or 3 tournaments in June, and 3 in July.
Along with tournaments, each team will have coach scheduled practices.
The season will be finalized at the end of July each year.
Cost:
The cost to participate TBD later this year.
Fall season is optional.
We do not want money to be a concern for our softball players.
Payment arrangements can be worked out to make this possible for all.Uniforms:
If you are new to the program, you will need to purchase new uniform tops, and Helmet.
The cost of new uniform tops is approximately $75~$100.
Cost of Helmet is $65
Tryouts:
Tryouts are held at the end of July every year.
2024 tryout dates will be posted later this summer (Aug).
Please bring glove, cleats, sliding equipment, bat, helmet and a great attitude to tryouts.
